Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

By using DeadGraph, you agree to these terms. They are intentionally straightforward. DeadGraph is a free demo service - please use it as intended and don't abuse it.

What DeadGraph is

DeadGraph is a free, AI-powered knowledge base for the Grateful Dead's live concert history (1965-1995). It allows you to query information about shows, setlists, songs, recordings, and musicians via a conversational chat interface.

The service is provided as a demonstration project by an individual developer. It is not a commercial product and carries no service level guarantees.

Acceptable use

You may use DeadGraph for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

Access is free and intended for individual Dead fans and researchers. Bulk data access or API integration for commercial purposes is not permitted without explicit written permission.

AI-generated content and accuracy

DeadGraph uses AI to interpret queries and generate responses. While we take care to ground responses in verified data from the Internet Archive and public records, AI responses can contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.

DeadGraph is provided for informational and entertainment purposes. Always cross-reference important facts with primary sources such as the Internet Archive or official band documentation.

Content and intellectual property

The knowledge base is built from public sources, primarily the Internet Archive, under licenses compatible with non-commercial use (Creative Commons CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-NC, and Public Domain works).

The Grateful Dead name and related trademarks belong to their respective owners. DeadGraph is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Grateful Dead or their management.

Rate limits and access restrictions

To ensure fair access for all users, the service applies rate limits on a per-user and per-IP basis. Specific limits may change as the service scales. Attempts to circumvent these limits are grounds for suspension.

Access is currently restricted to users in the United States. This may change in the future.

Service availability

DeadGraph is provided free of charge with no uptime guarantee. The service may be:

We do not guarantee continuous availability and accept no liability for downtime or service interruptions.

Account suspension and termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any account that:

No refunds apply because the service is free.

Limitation of liability

DeadGraph is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of implied warranties or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable US federal and state law.
